Do I need a referral to work with you?

You don’t need a GP referral.  You can access counselling by completing the Consultation Form or sending me an email.

How can psychotherapy and counselling help me?

A therapist can help you achieve the outcomes you want by guiding you through evidence based strategies to process traumatic memories, increase self awareness, gain clarity around challenges and create conscious change.  The therapeutic relationship provides a supportive and non-judgemental environment that allows you to regain your sense of safety, confidence and connection.

What is your therapeutic approach?

I utilise a holistic mind-body approach including Attachment Theory, parts work, somatic experiencing, breath work, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (“EMDR”) and deep mindfulness.

What happens in my first counselling session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another.  You’ll be able to share information with me as well as ask questions.  My role is to hold space for you and get an understanding of your thoughts, feelings and perspectives and how I can best support you.  You can get a feel for my therapy style and what therapy will be like.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of therapy sessions you may need will vary depending on your goals.  Some people come to therapy to address specific life goals or changes whilst others are seeking deeper work around trauma.  We can assess your needs together and work out what is best for you.  We will continue to check in and assess your needs throughout the therapeutic process.
